The MID is extremely important to the housing industry. There is no way they are going to let this expire. Not with the “no new taxes” mantra constantly repeated in congress.

Yesterday, Realtor.com released January real estate stats that might be interesting to your readers. Last month, the Tampa -St. Petersburg-Clearwater metro area was the No. 7 most searched market in the country. Median list prices last month were $153,000, a year-over-year decrease of -9.47%. The national median list price was $199,000.

Additionally, there were 39,901 total listings last month, an increase of 15.58% compared to January 2010.

This is a good explanation of things to think about as a first time home buyer, or any home buyer for that matter. In our area of the country there is quite a bit of new construction and many buyers need to be convinced to still order a home inspection.

Jill, very good point of 1000 Friends of Florida.

Their position back in March 2010, "1000 Friends of Florida does not support the Florida Hometown Democracy (FHD) constitutional amendment."

They have since changed their position to Neutral back in September 2010. "Should Amendment 4 pass, 1000 Friends will work with state and local leaders and citizens to help establish a fair and equitable new process. Should Amendment 4 fail, 1000 Friends resolves to work with the same parties toward meaningful reform to Florida’s growth management process."
